Born in the late 1960s and made famous by pioneers like Don Campbell and The Lockers, Locking is all about sudden "locks" or pauses in movement, followed by explosive grooves, smooth points, and animated character. This style isn’t just about steps — it’s about expressing joy, commanding attention, and telling a story with every beat. Dancers use exaggerated gestures, sharp angles, and comedic flair to interact with the audience and bring the music to life. Whether you're new to the style or want to sharpen your skills, our Locking program will teach you the fundamentals, musicality, and swagger needed to lock with confidence — on stage or in a battle. Cancellation Policy
Street Styles Academy Membership Agreement This Membership Agreement ("Agreement") is between Street Styles Academy LLC (“SSA”) and the Member, or the parent/guardian if the Member is under 18 years old. By enrolling in any SSA program, Member agrees to the following terms: 1. Program Participation & Expectations Members are expected to arrive on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to participate in all scheduled practices, classes, and events. Inexperienced students may be required to attend an Intro or Bronze class before advancing. Member placement and level are determined by SSA coaches through ongoing evaluations. A minimum 6-month training period is encouraged to maximize results and progression. 2. Tuition & Payments Monthly tuition is billed automatically through our partner GoMotion on the 1st of each month. Members who enroll mid-month will receive prorated tuition for that month only. Missed classes are not otherwise prorated or refunded. A $3 late fee will apply if payment is not completed within 14 days of the billing date. SSA reserves the right to suspend participation if the account is past due. 3. Membership Cancellation Memberships may be canceled at any time with written notice submitted by email at least five (5) days prior to the next billing cycle. Verbal, text, or in-person cancellation requests will not be accepted. Refunds are not provided for unused classes or mid-month cancellations. 4. Liability & Risk Waiver Participation in dance and physical activity involves inherent risk. Member voluntarily assumes all such risks. SSA, including its staff, instructors, affiliates, and venue partners, are not liable for injuries, illness, or personal property loss during SSA programs, whether on or off-site. Member releases SSA from all such liability. 5. Media Release & Promotional Use Member grants SSA permission to use their name, likeness, photographs, videos, and testimonials in promotional materials, including but not limited to websites, social media, printed materials, and advertisements. No compensation is provided. To opt out, a written request must be submitted prior to participation. 6. Code of Conduct SSA has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, bullying, or unsafe behavior. Any violation may result in removal from the program without refund. Members are expected to respect staff, peers, property, and facilities at all times.
